Here's the drill, in case anyone else needs to do this.ġ) If you want to do a clean install, but want to restore settings, files, or software, make a Time Machine backup of the internal drive on the machine you want to change.Ģ) Download the installer from this thread, and install it on whatever mac you used to download it, so it shows up in the Application Folderģ) Make a bootable installer on (at least) a 12GB USB Drive, following the instructions here: Ĥ) Mount the USB installer (and the Time Machine backup drive, if you're doing a clean install) on the machine you want to change.ĥ) Restart the machine holding the option key. As per my conversations with Avid, I needed to downgrade to 10.13.3. It had Mac OS 10.13.6 (the current version, as of ) installed. I have a 2012 era MacBook Pro that I wanted to put Pro Tools Untimate 2018.7 on. Wait until you have some downtime before you upgrade.Thanks for posting the installer! I had no problem downloading it from the Google drive. But we reiterate that we strongly recommend you check to make sure all your software and plugins are supported before upgrading.Īlso make sure you make a full backup in case it all goes wrong and do not upgrade in the middle of a job.
